Who He says I am

We were driving home from a school concert. We were laughing and joking and pretty much on a high all round. All except my daughter. All of a sudden she just burst into tears. Sad, soulful tears. It caught me by surprise.

“Baby, whats wrong?” I asked her. Her reply astounded me. (sobbing) “ I really feel like milk, I NEVER have milk! No one ever lets me have milk!” I sat behind the wheel of my car…shocked. It was quite a surprise. I took in a deep breath… then I responded. “Sweetie, I love you. If you feel like milk, then you just need to ask. You’ve never asked me for milk. I didn’t know you felt that way. When we get home, you can have all the milk you want.”

You see, I never knew her heart’s desire. That all she wanted was a great, big glass of cold, creamy milk. All she needed to do was ask her mom or dad.

It got me thinking…We have a heavenly Father. He created us in His image and it is through Him that we find our identity. We are his workmanship, chosen, adopted into His family and He wants only the best for us. All we have to do is ask.

These are my favourite verses on our identity in Him. Do you have a favourite verse on Identity? I’d love to hear about it.
